Meet Leanne

Sutherland Shire Independent Councillor

Hi, I’m Leanne Farmer. Born and bred in Cronulla, I’ve lived in A Ward all of my life and I’m passionate about supporting local families, our community and small businesses.

While raising my 2 children – now in their 30s – I’ve volunteered in their schools, coached & managed their local sporting teams and have experienced first hand how amazing our community really is. I’ve been privileged to work for local businesses over many years and now operate my own small business Mummymetime which provides State government accredited in-home childcare, NDIS support and other family help services. I’m so proud to employ locals and to support families across Sutherland Shire and St George.

What made me decide to run for Sutherland Shire Council?

In championing the Cronulla Women’s Rest Centre and fighting to change the proposed development next to Monro Park, I saw how many families are disappointed and disillusioned with the current council. Decisions by the major parties have led to overdevelopment, as well as traffic and parking issues across the entire shire. Cronulla, Bundeena and Kurnell have been massively affected.

I firmly believe that politics have no place in local government and I look forward to representing A Ward and standing up for the issues which matter to us.
